These are window-like, solid louvered frames in the outer walls of houses. One type is a rough, porous material strip just below the top shingles, shingles that run linearly along the top hill on the roof top. The overlap valves have formed channels that allow airflow and prevent insulation from tapping the entire airspace between the roof loungers.
